Welcome to the staff team at Pulse and Water College!
I established Pulse and Water Learning in September 2002 as an offsite inclusion project for disaffected young learners aged 14 to 16. Then called ‘Inclusive Creativity Learning’, later on IC Learning, and presently Pulse and Water College under the auspices of Pulse and Water Learning.
My role includes providing the strategic direction for Pulse and Water overall leadership and management of staff; resources; liaison with organisations; finance; curriculum and learner welfare.
My vision is for an inclusive strategy operating on the belief that given favourable circumstances, all children all can learn and all have a desire to succeed educationally.
Qualifications: BA (Hons) in Education (University of Ife Ile-Ife, Nigeria); M.Ed. in Educational Psychology (University of Lagos, Nigeria); M.A.Ed in Educational Management (Open University, United Kingdom); M.B.A.Ed in International in Educational Leadership (University of Hull, United Kingdom).
HEAD OF SCHOOL
I joined Pulse and Water as a lead tutor in September 2016, having worked in a small independent school in Kent for the previous twelve years teaching ICT and latterly Child Development to students with a variety of special needs and challenges. I spent time on the School Leadership Team and had a variety of other responsibilities, including on-line safety, IT support and Exams Officer.
My extensive experience of teaching students with autism, anxiety and dyslexia has provided me with a solid foundation to embrace any and all challenges.
I am a student at Canterbury Christ Church University studying for the Foundation Degree in Childhood Studies, and in my spare time enjoy spending time with my daughter, socialising with my friends and getting out and about with the dog.
HEAD OF SCHOOL
HISTORY AND PE TUTOR
HEAD OF MATHMATICS AND SCIENCE
I hold a Humanities BA (Hons) and a PGCE specialism in SLDD/Basic Skills.
I am a Special Needs/Basic Skills teacher with wide ranging experience and skills gained whilst teaching at different levels of education, especially in vocational curriculum in mainstream schools (KS3-KS5) and adults in further education.
I am currently an undergraduate at the University of Manchester reading Pharmacology and Physiology, and I have high enthusiasm for encouraging children to become interested in science and enjoy tutoring during the spring revision sessions.
I aim to encourage more students into the highly useful field of science so that they can be equipped to influence a positive change for our future.
I work in information communication to ensure the smooth running of the school, and aim to encourage more students into the amazing field of accountancy; it is a valuable field and essential for the economic progress of the country.
I look forward to seeing students progress and aspire to be the best they can.
I graduated from the University of Ife, Ile-Ife, Nigeria, in 1982 with a BA in English Education, teaching English and Literature for 20 years in a federal school in Port Harcourt, Nigeria. I relocated to the United Kingdom 2003, and have worked with children and young people all through my career as a Learning Mentor, Teaching Assistant and a Supply Teacher.
I joined the college in September 2017, and currently work as a Literacy Tutor and Home Tutor. I enjoy working with and getting to know the students, helping them to achieve resilience.
I also enjoy playing boardgames and watching TV gameshows, and I have self-published five novels and am currently working on my sixth.
